San Antonio Founders Day 2012
Saturday, October 20th, UTSA Libraries Special Collections attended and manned a table at the San Antonio Founders Day. The day-long musical, cultural, historical and educational celebration was held on the grounds of The Alamo behind the shrine. The mission of Founders Day mission is to honor the more than 20 cultural groups and individuals who shaped San Antonio heritage and to stimulate interest in reading and learning about the city’s history and heritage in the context of the history of Texas, the nation and the world.
The first San Antonio Founders Day was held in 2004 and the organization was established by Frank Jennings. Special Collections maintains a small collection of San Antonio Founders Day records donated by Frank Jennings in 2006.
