July 29, 2010

by Rose Rodriguez, Collections Assistant

Michigan State University graduate student, Antonio Vasquez, spent several days this summer conducting research for his dissertation in Chicano/Latino and American Studies. Vasquez is affiliated with the Julian Samora Research Institute at MSU and his academic interests relate to Mexican migration, urban community formation, race relations, and human rights. His research at UTSA focused on our Mexican Americans activism collections, including the Felix D. Almaraz Papers, the Judge Albert A. Peña Papers, and the Mario Marcel Salas Papers.

The collections mentioned, along with all of UTSA’s manuscript collections and university records, can be viewed at the Special Collections reading room at the HemisFair Park Campus by scheduling an appointment or by filling out our Off-Site Collection Request Form to be viewed at the JPL Special Collections reading room at the Main Campus.
