UTSA African American Literatures and Cultures Institute Visit Special Collections

June 22, 2010

Earlier this month, fellows from UTSA’s African American Literatures and Cultures Institute used the Sterling Houston Papers at Special Collections.

Dr. Jocelyn Moody, Sue E. Denman Distinguished Chair in American Literature
Director, African American Literatures and Cultures Institute said in a later email:

“Thank you very much for the excellent instructional session you provided together for the Fellows of the African American Literatures and Cultures Institute yesterday. As you could no doubt tell, I found it very useful myself, as did the current UTSA students. We all benefited from the illuminating and pleasurable experience. I am especially grateful for the generous time and energy you put into preparing for our visit; it was much more thorough and inspiring than I’d anticipated when I asked if you could give us “a few research tips.” Your arranging for us to return to JPL with borrowing and printing privileges is extraordinarily thoughtful, and we are all grateful.”
