UTSA Special Collections Captures the Web
In September of 2009, the UTSA Special Collections began a partnership with the Internet Archive’s Archive-It Program to selectively capture, preserve, and make accessible web sites culturally and administratively significant to the University of Texas at San Antonio. The web crawling program currently consists of seven archival collections with over 411 web sites that patrons can either browse or search by URL, and all web collections are also full text searchable. As of early 2010, the UTSA Special Collections web archive program had archived over 698 web sites, close to 9 million documents, and over 700 gigabytes of data.
