Scholars get a taste of Mexican Cookbook Collection

During the 6th Interdisciplinary and Multicultural Conference on Food Representation in Literature, Film, and the Other Arts last weekend, scholars from around the country had a chance for hands-on exploration of the Laurie Gruenbeck Mexican Cookbook Collection, when UTSA’s downtown library and Special Collections hosted a cookbook reading room last Saturday. Among the visitors was Dr. Maria Paz Moreno, a professor of Romance Languages at the University of Cincinnati. In addition to Spanish poetry, her current research focuses on the cultural significance of cookbooks and other gastronomic literature.
