New addition to the Zonta Club of San Antonio Records

December 16, 2009

Recently, UTSA Archives received an addition to the Zonta Club of San Antonio Records. The records consist primarily of scrapbooks and publicity books that date back to 1959, and include club directories, conference bulletins, antique show and sale programs, photographs, correspondence, and clippings that document membership, activities, social events, newsletters, and reports.

The latest addition includes many of the same types of materials, such as programs, newsletters, clippings, and directories that document the club’s members and activities, as well as administrative records such as meeting minutes, reports, correspondence, and director’s manuals.

Zonta Club of San Antonio, part of Zonta International, is a worldwide organization made up of executive and professional business women who volunteer their time, talents, and money to improve the status of women locally and internationally by providing opportunities for under-privileged girls and young women. The Club offers two annual scholarships each year, the Z Club scholarship and the scholarship for Young Women in Public Affairs. They also support many service projects throughout San Antonio, concentrating most of their efforts on the Women at the Well House, a home for formerly incarcerated women and Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives.
